Role of Mental Health

    A person's mental health is as vital as their physical health and knowledge. In terms of school, a superior mental health allows students to effectively and efficiently perform in their academics. However, negligence or compromising your mental health for the sake of education can lead to adverse effects.

    Poor mental health in students nowadays come from the pressure they receive from their surroundings. The need to stay on top causes them to lower some things down their priority lists, like their mental state. This negligence is usually the deep-rooted cause when it comes to students' declining studies.

    Routinely, students often go to school to flourish their knowledge and understandings. However, we must take into account extraneous factors such as personal life, family, peer-pressure, and environment often lead students in a spiraling helix where they must figure out how to and when to proceed. This process not only hinders a child's ability to grasp holistic knowledge, but also traps them in an abyss of never-ending lists of tasks to accomplish.

    Although mental health rests upon the shoulders of an individual, let's not forget that there are people who are willing to help us reach the succeeding point of our life. Schools in our country, especially in basic education schools, are required or mandated by law to have a guidance counselors. On a particular note, teachers also play an important factor in the mental well-being of a student. Positive thinking, enthusiasm, and empathy usually brings forth harmony in a school's environment or climate.
